Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Orinda residents have top-notch dining opportunities. Many visit Genuine Goodness, offering grab-and-go sandwiches and treats, take-and-bake meals, and a specialty British pop-up shop. Ingredients are locally sourced and items are made fresh daily. Casa Orinda has been serving the area for 89 years and is famous for its fried chicken, prime beef, and Italian pasta dishes. Casa Orinda is Contra Costa County’s oldest running restaurant and a real treat to visit!

Stop by the Orinda Theatre Square for more dining and shopping opportunities. Be sure to visit Morrison’s Jewelry, a family-owned shop since 1923, and catch a movie at the historic Orinda Theatre. If you’re looking to experience a classic, visit Cal Shakes - the local outdoor theater and education center. With shows throughout the year in their open-air performance space and community workshops and events, Cal Shakes is a favorite destination for all ages.

Things to Do

The Orinda Community Center Park includes two playgrounds, three tennis courts, and a large open grassy area for picnics, soccer games, and events, like the free concerts in the park every summer. Residents also enjoy the weekly Orinda Farmers' Market on Saturdays and the annual 4th of July Parade over the summer.

For the last 16 years, the Orinda Classic Car Show has been educating the community and raising funds for local charities. The car show features over 200 American and European classic cars and is held annually in September. It’s a great family-friendly event to support the Orinda community.

Established in 1924, The Orinda Country Club is nestled in the foothills of Orinda and features state-of-the-art facilities, a renovated William Watson golf course, award-winning swimming and tennis facilities, and a delicious restaurant.
